About ClearConsent
Privacy compliance scanner & consent toolkit. Scan. Score. Fix. Stay compliant.
What ClearConsent Does
ClearConsent scans your website for privacy issues — trackers, cookies, missing privacy policies, absent consent banners, and missing "Do Not Sell" links — and scores you against 21 active privacy laws including CCPA, VCDPA, CPA, TDPSA, GDPR, PIPEDA, and more.
Then it helps you fix what it finds: auto-generated privacy policies tailored to your scan results, a cookie consent banner that actually blocks tracking scripts until visitors consent, and ongoing monitoring with weekly rescans and score-drop alerts.
Available as a standalone web app or a Shopify app that installs directly into your admin — no code to copy, no theme editing, no developer needed.
Why This Exists
In 2023, a small e-commerce store owner asked me to help them understand if they were compliant with CCPA. The quote from the cheapest compliance SaaS I found: $400/month. The quote from a privacy attorney for an initial consultation: $450.
They were running a Shopify store selling handmade goods. Their monthly revenue was less than that consultation fee.
State privacy laws are real and the fines are real, but so is the price gouging from tools built for enterprise legal teams. Small businesses deserve a straight answer about what they're doing wrong — without a sales call, a contract, or a legal retainer.
What It Is (and What It Isn't)
ClearConsent is an automated compliance tool, not legal advice. A score of 100% means you've addressed the technical signals we can detect. Actual legal compliance also depends on your internal data handling practices, employee training, and vendor agreements — for that you need a qualified attorney.
I say this upfront because I'd rather lose a sale than have someone rely on a tool for something it isn't designed to do.
Built in Canada
I'm Jamie, a software developer based in Newfoundland, Canada. I built ClearConsent solo — no team, no VC funding, no enterprise sales motion. Just a tool built to solve a real problem for real small businesses.
When you contact ClearConsent, you're talking to the person who wrote the code. If something is broken or wrong, I want to know directly and I'll fix it directly.
